Namibia Integrated Employment Information System Launched
Namibia’s high unemployment statistics is a continuous source of discussion. Now in the latest development and in a move to hopefully start working on reducing the statistics, the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare officially launched the Namibia Integrated Employment Information System on the 4th of December 2013.
According to the Namibia Press Agency, the function of this system is to collect, store and update information concerning vacancies in the labour market, as well as information on employers in Namibia and the names and qualifications of job seekers. The first registrations started on the 5th of December after the system was officially launched at the Khomas Regional Council, and are still ongoing.
